Meet Natalie

Natalie Felix has over 20 years of teaching experience and is an Orton Gillingham Fellow working with Swift School in Roswell, GA.   Natalie earned a Bachelor’s in Science from Bloomsburg University and a M.A.T. in Special Education from Valdosta State University.  She is a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Specialist through the International Dyslexia Association and a Fellow with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators which provides teacher training to professionals across the United States and abroad in the Orton-Gillingham Approach.

Additionally,  her passion for teaching dyslexic students and training professionals came about as a result of raising a very bright son who struggled to be successful in a traditional school setting.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU’LL LEARN

Natalie shares in this episode her son’s dyslexia journey (and his struggles) and her personal experiences as a mom raising a son with dyslexia. It was not an easy journey, but her son is now a successful adult.

As Natalie saw her son’s struggles first-hand, she chose to follow her passion to help other children with dyslexia and equally as important to train teachers how to teach our children with dyslexia. Natalie’s story is a true inspiration of a warrior mom fighting for all of our children.
