Yelling for the kids to get up (again), making breakfast, and getting everyone to school on time (for a change) then in a few hours you are back in carline, running to after-school activities, home to cook and do homework. A mom’s world can feel chaotic at times (or to be honest – all the time). I am going to share with you a simple way you can start your day and help your world feel (and smell) a little more peaceful. How? By using essential oils in your home and office.
I use essential oil diffusers in our bedrooms and in my office. It has made a huge difference in the way I feel. I know, it sounds strange, but the aroma really does help me get my day started and calm me after a stressful day. If you or your family suffers (like we do in Georgia) from seasonal allergies, you can use your essential oils to literally help you breathe. There are some nights that our daughter can’t sleep (stuffy nose) without the diffuser running in her bedroom.
Essential oils have many uses and benefits from reducing your symptoms of anxiety to relief from allergies. You will need essential oils and an essential oils diffuser. You can buy a diffuser at Wal-Mart, Target, local drug store, and Amazon. Diffusers range in prices, but you can find one that works well for under $25.00. All you need to do is add water to the diffuser (there is a fill line on each diffuser) and a few drops of your favorite essential oils.
I also have an essential oils bracelet that I love. You can find many options for bracelets on Amazon that are reasonably priced under $15.00. We have found some great bracelets at local gift stores too.
You can also buy an essential roller bottle and add your own essential oils. The roller is great for headaches. See the Headache Relief below.

- Sleep: lavender (3-5 drops)
- Stress: orange (2 drops), eucalyptus (2 drops), and peppermint (2 drops)
- Study: peppermint (2 drops), frankincense (2 drops), and wild orange (2 drops)
Many different brands sell essential oils. Just like diffusers, you can find essential oils at your local grocery store, Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon. You may even have a local specialty store that has a section of essential oils. The brands that we love include NOW, Young Living, and Aura Cacia. Many brands also have an organic line of essential oils.
A good friend recently recommended the Essential Oils Pocket Reference. This book has already taught me more about the benefits of essential oils and a great reference.
There are many things we can’t control during our busy day (like that long line at carline), but we can choose an essential oil to start our day with a cheerful scent and end our day with a calming fragrance.
Enjoy your new calm,
